The learning journey

The ProjectABLE Framework

Six practical learning modules designed to help organisations recruit, support and retain talented employees living with disabilities and long-term health conditions.

Module 1

Confident Conversations

Creating the confidence to have the conversations that matter.

Supportive workplaces begin with confident conversations. This module equips managers with the skills to approach conversations with curiosity, confidence and empathy, creating psychologically safe environments where employees feel heard and supported. Participants will explore common assumptions, practical communication techniques and collaborative ways to discuss workplace needs.

Module 2

Positive Recruitment

Creating inclusive recruitment experiences from the very first interaction.

The employee experience begins long before day one. This module explores how organisations can remove unnecessary barriers from recruitment, attract talented candidates, build confidence throughout the recruitment journey and create inclusive hiring practices that benefit both employers and applicants.

Module 3

Making Work Work

Removing barriers. Creating practical solutions.

Creating an inclusive workplace doesn’t stop once someone is recruited. This practical module focuses on recognising workplace barriers, understanding reasonable adjustments and working collaboratively to create environments where employees can contribute at their very best. The emphasis is always on enabling success, not simply accommodating need.

Module 4

Inclusive Language in the Workplace

Creating conversations that build trust.

Language shapes culture. The words we choose can either encourage open communication or unintentionally create barriers. This module explores practical language that builds trust, encourages disclosure, avoids common assumptions and helps managers communicate with confidence, respect and authenticity.

Module 5

Supportive Management

Supporting people to succeed, not simply survive.

Supporting an employee doesn’t end after the first conversation. This module helps managers develop the confidence to provide ongoing support, navigate changing circumstances, maintain trust and create positive working relationships that enable people to perform, develop and remain engaged throughout their employment.

Module 6

Consistent Success

Turning good intentions into consistent employee experiences.

Creating an inclusive workplace shouldn’t depend on which manager someone reports to. This module explores how organisations can embed consistent approaches, practical frameworks and shared expectations that ensure every employee experiences the same commitment to support, trust and opportunity. By moving from individual good practice to organisational consistency, inclusion becomes part of everyday working life rather than the responsibility of a few passionate individuals.
